Weddings > FAQ
I get asked many questions and hope that I can provide some of the answers you need here. If you can't find what you are looking for please use the contact me page to get in touch.
Which area do you cover?
I am based in north Buckinghamshire and can easily work in venues across London and surrounding counties. However, I am happy to travel across the UK and even abroad for destination weddings if required. My wedding package includes travel costs within 50 miles of MK18 4LB. We will agree suitable travel and accommodation costs separately if required.
Are you fully insured?
Absolutely - I have professional indemnity insurance along with public liability insurance. I also carry full back up of professional equipment.
Do you shoot in B&W or colour?
I shoot digital files which I then edit myself - I look at each image as an individual frame and choose the most appropriate treatment to get the best from it - be it black and white, full colour or slightly desaturated for a timeless quality. You can choose a mix or too have everything in colour or black and white.
How do we book you?
I always like to meet the couple and get to know each other - even it that is on skype if you live abroad or lead very busy lives. I'm interested in your story - how you met, the proposal, the venue, the details. Truth is I love weddings. I like to be able to show you examples of my work and sample albums from previous weddings. If you do make the decision to book me I ask for a completed and signed contract and a non-refundable retainer fee of £500 which can be paid by bank transfer or cheque. Unfortunately, I can't hold dates without the form and fee. The balance will be due one month before your wedding date.
Do we sign a contract?
Yes I have a contract that we will both sign copies of - this has been legally approved by a UK solicitor.
Should we book an engagement shoot?
Some couples really want to experience what it’s like being in front of my camera before the wedding day. If you do decide to book a shoot then I suggest we make a plan to do something fun and different. Location is very important to me and I’ve travelled to the coast for shoots before. The imagery is always different to your wedding day and some couples have used their engagement images for wedding stationery, guest books and signing boards.
Can you provide prints for the guests?
After the wedding I will send you a link to a password protected online gallery that you can choose to share with your guests (or I can create a separate gallery with the images of your choice). The gallery links directly to an online professional print lab where people can order individual prints that will be delivered directly to them.
Do you retain the copyright?
Yes I do because it is essential for my business. If you would like to know more about this subject please visit this link where I discuss it in more detail.
is VAT in addition?
No the photography collections and pricing document that I send you is fully inclusive.
How long will you store my wedding images in digital format?
We will archive and store your images for 5 years.
What happens if you are ill on the day?
Of course this is something that I dread but so far I have never missed or been late for a wedding in the years I have been shooting. Due to the fact that we run a photography training school (www.trainingbylumiere.co.uk) we have a huge network of photographers and we also run a second shooter facebook group so we would always be able to find you professional photography back up if the worst should happen.
